All in all, turned out to be a
great trip for HXOC again. On Friday the 24th, everyone started to arive in the late
afternoon time with Elroy showing up first. Attendance included Elroy, DGX Factor,
HotairX, Beanik and Jess, Aero Steve and Chocolata, KCX Driver, Biohazard, and Fletch.
Friday night, Beanik and Jess took on the chore of preparing Tacos for everyone at the
Cabin. Everyone sat around and enjoyed there tacos and beer and Biohazards Playstation 2
with the game Grand theft auto. Attempting to smash into everything with the Hummer was
the fun to be had on that game. Then later in the evening, DGX Factor and HotairX were
scheming to get the night run going, so after a few more shots at flipping the hummer, it
was off to the snow covered trails for the night, Headed up by Aero Steve and about half
the trucks following. Not too much was found near the cabin really, but still some good
times to see Aero Steve at it again making multiple attempts to launch up a snowy covered
hill climb with his beast of a truck (yes, he made it). Mostly just alot of having fun and
clowning around with each other. After returning to the cabin, it was time for more
and the GOX
3 video. Soon after that, it was time for bed.
Saturday morning, it was off to venture in and around the fort (after DGX Factor finally
woke up). First on the agenda was to do some exploring before actually going onto FLW.
There were some back woods less traveled roads found, but very few. After running a few,
we made our way to the fort. DOD police greeted everyone with a vehicle inspection, but at
least we didn't have to watch the wacky military video or get passes. Once arriving in the
4 wheeling area, we found that our favorite alternater killing mud puddles were iced over
and covered with snow, so that made for some fun when you started to hear some crackles
under your X. A couple people took the time to play in the playground and pose for some
pics, others were off to the trails. Aero Steve got into a bind when he was trying an
extremely steep climb with his X. A failed attempt to make it up cost him his liscense
plate and rear bumper, and he wedged the spare out from under the truck, similar to what
happened to Ivan at GOX. Fletch immediately got into position and winched him over it.
Well, after a couple more recoveries from a few others getting high centered on some
mounds, it was off to meet up with HotairX and gang out on the trails. We found the
powerlines to be quite a challenge this time due to the snow still being on the trails.
Made for some fun climbs. Everyone did just fine though and made it up all the sections
the group tried, only costing 2 BFG All terrains, Hotairs corner rear bumper, DGX Factors
Safari Bar, and one of Elroys fog lights. Once the trail runs were said and done, it was
off to the cabin for some more drinking. DGX and friends headed for the hills once we
returned. Everyone else enjoyed the relaxation of the campfire and alcohol for the last
portions of the trip. Thats about the jist of it. Special thanks to HotairX for arranging
the cabin and Aero Steve (El Jefe) for his work as president of HXOC. Thanks guys for the
great trip out to FLW.
